Hope House

Hope House

What is Hope House?

Hope House is be a place of safety and shelter in the villages where our children and young people can stay for days, weeks or months. It started as just a plot of land in Kibakwe Town, measuring some 17m by 22m, but now construction is complete and it is being used. There are six bedrooms, a kitchen, a shower/toilet block and three sitting rooms. There is a courtyard, that is just right for eating and meeting together and playing games.

Why is Hope House needed?

Our children and young people are orphans and often live with grandparents, extended family or friends of the family. Sometimes the young people do not feel secure or happy in these places, but they have nowhere else to go. This situation can lead to poor health and poor exam results due to the mental stress on the young people. Hope House provides an alternative; a place of safety and love.

Building of Hope House

Village of Hope and Grace are pleased to say that Hope House is now built, furnished and being used by the children. The build started in 2019 with the septic tank, and most of the building work was undertaken in 2020 as funds allowed.

In 2021 the windows, gates, and plastering were completed. The building was first used in April 2022.

Hope House is an amazing facility. It is modern, spacious and peaceful.  The children and young people enjoy staying there.  It is a great venue to bring a large group of children together for an event .

Thank you for your help

Village of Hope and Grace and HGAT (and the children) would like to say a big thank you to everyone who has made Hope House possible. This was a big project for us in terms of time and resources.  Thank you so much to everyone who prayed and gave financially for the project. God has answered your prayers and blessed your gifts.
